  9. Hi all, just got these mods, hot off the FAX!

  11. Note: It is not lawful to monitor cellular or conventional mobile
  12.       telephone conversations.

  14. The 2026 has cellular frequencies deleted at the factory, but
  15. restoration is the easiest ever! - clip one marked wire!  All you need
  16. is a Philips screwdriver and wire cutters.
  17.  
  18. 1. Turn the scanner upside-down and remove the four side screws
  19. holding the bottom cover in place; pull the cover loose and set it
  20. back about two inches out of the way.
  21.  
  22. 2. Locate the small circuit board at the lower right-hand corner and
  23. find jumper L201.  Cut it and slightly separate the break.
  24.  
  25. 3. Reassemble the radio which now has continuous 806-956 MHz coverage
  26. and 30KHz search increments in the cellular band.
  27.  
  28. *** I have not tried the above mod, but did acquire it from a
  29. commercial radio dealer who is very respectable, so as always, proceed
  30. at your own risk and realize that this will violate your warranty!
